The Family Journey

Discovering the Story of God’s Family: from Genesis to Revelation

SUNDAYS, 9:40–10:20 am, RESUMING APRIL 7, 2024

The Family Journey is designed to be an intentional time for families to interact together — both within families and between families — as we discover together more about who God is and how He loves us.

Families & friends with kids of all ages are welcome to join us any week that works for you. We have high chairs and play mats to help support little ones, and we engage in a variety of activities to interest kids and adults of all ages.

Each week you can expect:

  • some music

  • some hands-on, sensory activities

  • some interaction with others

  • some direct teaching (in both video and live formats)

  • a chance to talk about something as a family

  • some language and ideas for continuing the conversation at home

  • that everything will be designed to help us grow in our relationships with God and each other

Come be a part of a community that desires to explore and learn together.

We meet on the west side of Walker Hall during the Community Life Time, from 9:40–10:20 a.m. during the school year. (The Family Journey is on hiatus until Sunday, April 7, 2024. There will be a selection of other family activities between now and then. Stay tuned for details!)

Kids Connect

SUNDAYS 8:30 and 10:30 am

Kids are a critical part of the body of Christ and we look forward to partnering with you in nurturing their spiritual growth. It is our desire to provide a safe place for them physically and emotionally, so that they are free to explore and discover the truth of God’s love.

Kids Connect classes are offered during the 8:30 am and 10:30 am services every Sunday. These are age-specific gatherings for kids to build relationships with peers and adults as they study God’s word together and discover the depths of His love for us.

Classes for:

  • 2 & 3 year olds (Room 205)

  • Pre-K (age 4 by Sept. 15) & Kindergarten (Room 207)

  • 1st-3rd Grade (Room 309)

These groups will be available during both worship services (8:30 & 10:30 a.m.) during the school year.

Kaleidoscope Kids

Wednesday evenings, from 6:15–7:45 p.m., for kids in preschool (age 4 by Sept. 15) - 5th grade.

We begin with large group in the sanctuary from 6:15-6:40 p.m. Family members and friends are welcome to join us!

We will then explore God’s Word together in age-specific classrooms. This is a highly interactive and engaging curriculum — a great place to invite your friends!

(Kaleidoscope Kids is on summer break, and will resume in Fall of 2023!)

Nurseries

Nursery is available during all worship services, Gather Women’s events, and some special occasions. We provide care in two rooms:

  • Our Infant Nursery is equipped for newborns-steady walkers.

  • Our Toddler Nursery is equipped for steady walkers-preschoolers.

Family Options:

  • Our Nursing Room is available for any caregiver needing a quiet place to feed or comfort your baby. It is equipped with sound so that you can listen to the worship service if you choose.

  • Our Family Changing Station is equipped with diapers, wipes and extra clothes. There is space for a stroller and safe space for a sibling to play while you attend to your baby.

What to expect when you arrive:

  • A welcome from one of our nursery volunteers

  • Secure check-in — your child will receive a nametag with his/her name, a security code and the guardian phone number. You will also receive a sticker with a code that matches your child’s security code; you will be asked to show this when you pick up your child.

  • A safe place for your child to play & explore — along with our secure check-in system, we staff the nursery with 2 or more volunteers at a time, age-appropriate toys that are cleaned regularly, and plenty of books and other activities. We have gluten-free snack options for children old enough to eat finger food.

Family Care Room: During the worship services, Room 205B is available for families who are looking for a safe space for their children to play, but would prefer to stay with their children. The service is live-streamed on a TV in that room.

If there is anything we can do to help you or your child feel more comfortable, or for more information, please contact the Director of Children’s Ministry, Dorie at dorie@c3ec.org or 715-835-5073.
